How to manage the euro crisis? Advantages and disadvantages of different strategies (2011:9epa)


As the euro area's debt crisis has worsened, two parallel decision-making processes have started in the EU. One aims to strengthen economic policy coordination in order to avoid similar crisis in the future. The second process regards the handling of urgent rescue efforts. In this publication, Professor Lars Calmfors discusses the management of the euro area’s debt crises and how it may affect the future economic policy framework.
