The impact of the financial crisis on European housing systems: a review (2014:2)
Housing market has proven to have contributed to the instability in the entire eurozone. Its structure and financing has also changed during the crisis.
This report analyses how the EU, the Member States and markets have reacted to the crisis and recession on the housing market. It examines how housing prices have changed in different groups of countries and what responses in terms of regulation or mortgage products were developed. Furthermore, the report points out remaining difficulties.
The publication is part of SIEPS´ research project EU and EMU after the economic crisis.
