Coming of Age? Economic Management of the European Union (2003:18)
The report examines the economic effects of institutional choices and how the decision-making rules in the European Union affects policy with regard to expenditures and expenditure structures. The report covers a number of areas, including constitutional problems tackled by the Convent.
The main message of the report is that the Union is coming of age in a number of areas, such as size and level of integration, but that there is still much to do as to the Union’s budget management.
The report was presented at the seminar The future budget of the EU and is part of the research project The future budget of the EU.
