Lars Calmfors discusses how the strength of various arguments for and against a EMU membership has changed over time. From a Swedish utility perspective, there are more arguments for joining today compared to ten years ago.
The stabilization policy risks associated with a transition to the euro are smaller and the positive trade effects must be assessed as greater.
The analysis is in Swedish and is a part of the research project The economic and Monetary Union.
