EU:s strukturpolitik i Rumänien: Kan den bli en hävstång för romerna? (2014:6epa)
Beggars have increasingly become a common sight in Swedish cities. This, in turn, has led to a renewed discussion on the situation for the Roma in Southeast Europe.
In this European Policy Analysis, Daniel Tarschys examines whether EU Cohesion Policy can contribute to improving the social and economic situation for the Roma in Romania, so as to better integrate them into the Romanian society. The analysis shows that while one should not be overly optimistic about the outlook in this regard, a modest positive influence from the Cohesion Policy is nevertheless conceivable.
